‘Oscar & Wolf 6+’

5 Nov.'23

Music room

Oscar Beerten was born in Colombia, but grew up in the Kempen region. His fascination with the far north led him to Finland, where he immersed himself in the splendour of folk music and learned to play the hardanger fiddle. He shares that passion with a young audience for the first time at BIG BANG. He alternates traditional pieces from Norway, Sweden, Hungary, and Poland with his own compositions that echo the soul of Scandinavian folk.

Wolf De Backer will be joining this music room. This versatile double bass player has a varied background within both jazz and classical to bolster his performance. Together, they play a tight set with a healthy dose of improvisation: a subtle string duet that lets the past resonate, but still holds the present close.
